Ballet provides a solid foundation for all types of dance. Students will be taught development of basic ballet exercise for feet, legs, hands and arm extensions. In Biblical Ballet the names of the feet and arm positions have been changed. The new names represent certain scriptures in the Bible. Ballet teaches coordination, musicality, and the proper method of turn out, while developing and strengthening muscles, improving posture and grace and building a strong visual memory. Slow and fast exercises are performed at the barre, in the center of the floor, and progressions across the floor.
Jazz students will learn isolation movement, combinations, kicks, jazz terminology and development of flexibility, balance, co-ordination and control. Leading into various jumps, leaps, turns, and more complex combinations increasing co-ordination and flexibility. During Spiritual Jazz class the terminology will stay the same but the focus will be towards God.
Terminology, rhythm and timing development are the basic lesson for all levels. Technique, musicality and coordination are the focus in tap class. Students are introduced to tap steps ranging from simple to complex and apply the learned material during a warm up, center floor and combinations. Lots of footwork and combinations are used throughout the classes. Students will tap to the background of Christian music.
